Friday June 2, 2006
After loosing three in a row by a
single run the Paw
Paw Bulldogs were able to take a victory from Waterman
1 by a score of 8 - 6.
The Bulldogs got two great innings
out of first time
pitcher Tyler Blum, and four excellent innings from
Justin Wiley. Althought Waterman 1 started to hit
Wiley in the sixth he was able to strike out each
batter in the Waterman 1 line up with the exception of
Matt Ricky and David.
Waterman 1 saw two innings each
from Tyler and Andrew
and one inning from Ricky. Ricky pitching in the
closer role faced only 4 Bulldogs which he made the
most of allowing a fly out to cinter chaulking up 2 Ks
and allowing one double.
The Bulldog hitters were led by Wiley and Lilja each
nearly taking it yard, Prentice batted 1.000 with a
nice double and Swanson and Marshall each went 2 for
3.
On the Waterman 1 side Ricky and
David each batted
1.000 with two singles for Ricky and two doubles for
David.
It was a fun game to watch and play with sportsmanship
showed by each team. The one exception to the fun was
a parent from the Waterman 1 side trying to take the
game off the field by antagonizing the umpire, he was
ejected from the game. With these games being as hard
fought as they have been this year it would be a shame
to see a team loose due to a loud mouth parent.
The next meeting of these two teams should be fun.

The Paw
Paw Bulldogs broke out of their hitting slumps
with RBIs by McChesney, Lilja, Prentice, Wiley and
Parks to take the victory from Waterman 2 8-5.
The Bulldogs saw excellent pitching
from Zac Lilja for
5 innings before Waterman 2 lost their first game
jitters and began to tag the ball in the bottom of the
sixth. After walking the lead off man, Martensen
singled followed by a fly ball to left field by Elliot
for the first out of the inning. Kreitter then
doubled in two runs followed by and RBI by Glock.
With Glock on second Johnson hit into an unusual 1-4-3
throw out and Kreitter scored on a throwing error to
third. Fisher walked and a pitching change was made
for the Bulldogs. Wiley was brought in to close the
game for Lilja which he did throwing three strikes to
end the game.
Through the raindrops both teams showed sportsmanship
and gave it their all for fans and teammates alike.
Pitchers of record where as follows:
Paw Paw
Lilja - 6 innings, 9 Ks, 5 runs
Wiley - 1 inning, 1 K, no runs
Waterman 2
Landsteiner - 3 innings, 4 Ks, 4 runs
Kleinfriz - 3 innings, 7 Ks, 4 runs
My appologies for misspelling the Waterman boys names
but I can't read my own writting. Thanks to Coach K
for all his help in getting this game played.

Comments:
Beginning of season game displayed excellent sportsmanship between both teams.
Serena's young team jitters allowed Paw Paw a 2 run head start in the first inning.
Strong defense kept Paw Paw from scoring anymore the rest of the game.
Outstanding double play by Short stop #27 - Erik Sniegowski in the top of the
6th inning was true athleticism at it's best. Paw Paw's young pitcher,
#24 - Justin Wiley's fiery pitches where spectacular to watch, and kept a strong
hold on Serena's batters. A most enjoyable game for the spectators and players
to watch. Good going teams!
