An exciting game played between two teams that really went after it. Hinckley jumped on top with a run in the bottom of the 1st with a HBP (Nic), 2 stolen bases, and an error, then added another in the bottom of the 4th on a single by Brian, stolen base, followed by an RBI single by Nic for a 2-0 lead. Plano #1 came back and scored a run in the top of the 5th to make it 2-1. Hinckley tacked on another run in the bottom of the 5th to make it 3-1. Plano #1 tied the game in the top of the 7th, but Hinckley scored the winning run on Hit Batter (Nic), sacrifice bunt (Dylan), single by Travis followed by an RBI single by Aaron. A great game played by both teams.

Leland took Somonauk in the bottom of the 7th inning with a score of 4-3 with a few nailbiting bases loaded moments of which Nate Brown hit the ball into short Left for the winning run to score. Tyler Frieders was the winning pitcher for Leland. Leland played some heads up defense. Garrett had some fantastic plays from short stop, and"took one for the team" in the first inning coming home for run with Andrew's double into center field. Leland ends the season with four wins and eleven losses. Good luck to all the teams in the tournament.

Sandwich #4 vs Serena #2, Serena #2 wins 10 to 6 Serena controlled the game from the start. Milam pitched 5, struck out 3, walked 4, had good defense behind him. The double play catching two stealing from 1st to second than 3rd to home very impressive. Haines and Mccaslin great job. Murphey finished the game with 2. nice job fella's. Sandwich pitched Voss 2 ,Lopez 2 and Wegener 2, If not for the Lopez Grand Slam and Jake Wegener solo homer not sure Sandwich would have scored, left 10 base runers. Thats the Season Boys. Get ready for the tournment. It was a pleasure to play this season in the central division. every night was a battle any night the game could have gone the other way regradless who you played who. Congrats to Somonauk as it looks like the won the division, which was no easy task. Go central in the tournament represent us well.

A real good game. Hinckley jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the 1st on a 1b by Nic, followed by a 2-run HR from Brian. Indian Creek answered with 4 runs in the bottom of the first, added 3 more in the bottom of the second with the big blast a 2-run HR by Reece to take a 7-2 lead. Hinckley battled back by scoring 3 runs in the 4th, with the big blow a 3-run 2b by Andy to pull within 7-5. Indian Creek added one more in the bottom of the 5th to go up 8-5, and then Hinckley scored one more in the top of the 7th after another 2b by Andy and an RBI single by Robbie for the final score of 8-6.

bottom of the 2nd thanks to a 3-run HR by Travis Chase, followed by a solo HR by

Ryan Michels. Hinckley added another run for their tally of 5 in the inning. Paw Paw

scored 4 runs in the top of the 3rd to climb within one, but then Hinckley tacked on

another in the bottom of the 3rd, and one more in the bottom of the 5th for the final score of 7-4.

Somonauk and Yorkville played a good game, but our boys came out of there slump in the 4th inning to bring us a victory. Neither team were able to do alot of stealing which made it a good game to watch... Congrats to our boys every one made a rbi Congrats to Tony lelli on his 4 rbi's nice job Tony. Tony has been our catcher for at least the three years i've been with the team and has never sat out do to no other catcher. But this game he got to sit and see the game from the bench for one inning and we asked him how he liked it... He said it was great. Now someone else can hear them yell get the ball !!!! Great pitching from Jordan Clark in the first few innings, His reflief pithcer Noah did a great job to bring our team to a victory.... Once again whether we win or lose Our boys played as a team and had a good time doing it. Keep up the team work guys...

Game Highlights
Game 3 for Leland against Big Rock ended in a 15-4 win for Leland bringing their

record to 2-1. Truman started us off with a double putting one out in center field

followed by base hits by Tyler O., Andrew, Miguel, and Cory. Andrew Abens

the winning pitcher for the game with 4 strikeouts and 3 walks. Truman Lindhout

finished the game pitching the last 3 innings. The play of the game goes to

Roland Hacker with a phenomenal catch in right field resulting in a double play at first.

Way to go Roland! Offensively Zach smacked one deep into left field

(almost got that Subway sign Zach!) for a 2 run homer in the top of the 6th.

Thanks to Big Rock for hosting, we enjoyed playing at Kenny field.

Highlights: Zac Thanepohn had a teriffic game at the plate but even better
on the mound. He struke out 12 while walking only one as he went the
distance for Newark. He didnt even let up an earned run. He also helped the
cause by driving in 3 runs in the fourth inning. Also driving in runs today
were, Hardisty, McConnell, and Kozlowski. And helping out was, Cihak and
Hardisty who each scored twice and both hit doubles for Newark.

pitched great game with a little defensive help from his fielders. John Avery pitched

had already reported the game score and did not see the purpose in reporting

twice. it was a great game! both to play and watch looking forward to our next contest.

5 Innings due to 10 run rule.

The first 3 innings were pretty much a pitchers dual with Hinckley leading 1-0

after 3 innings, but then in the bottom of the 4th the Hinckley bats woke up

and pushed across 4 runs, with Michaels 2-run HR being the big hit. Leland

managed a bases loaded double in the top of the 5th for their three runs, and

then Hinckley erupted in the bottom of the 5th for 8 runs on 8 hits and 3 walks

to end the game after 5 innings. Hinckley improves to 2-0 for the young season.

Hinckley started the year with a solid effort featuring good pitching and

some timely hitting. Poplawski and Michaels were the leading hitters,

but 6 other Hinckley players had at least one hit: Magee, Johnsen, Michels,

Mckenzie, Belovich, and Verwey.

Great game played by both teams. Both teams played their very best.

But Somonauk came out ahead in the 4th inning and it was called due to

darkness, so who knows how the game would of finished if we took it to the

7th inning. Hopefully we can find out when we meet them again. It was a joy to

play them. Both teams should be proud of themselves.

Somonauk had alot of good plays but three stood out. Jordan Clark an awesome

homerun out of the park to bring in two of our boys in th 2nd inning and two more

rbi's in the 4th inning.

Jacob Swanson's play on second inning to stop the Yorkville team. But most of

all the way the whole team played together is the best of all.....Good luck to all the

Pony teams this year. We are looking forward to a great season..

Game Highlights
Leland is off to a great start with a season starting win against Somonauk 19-6 at Somonauk on 5/2/06. Heavy on the bats in the first inning Truman Lindhout started us off with a double into left field followed by a triple for Tyler Frieders, and Tyler Olson's hard hit homer deep into left field. Defensively Leland was on top of the game with double play by Andrew, and skilled teamwork to end the game in the bottom of the 5th due to time constraint. Good Luck to Somonauk with the rest of their season, although this is a young team, they have alot of heart and skill.
