HIGHLIGHTS

Tough game between 2 Plano teams ending with Plano #1 coming out ahead by 1 in the end. Close game all the way through. We are very proud Plano #3 for having an excellent year of baseball and continuing solid play after our team captain broke his wrist and ended his season early. Great job guys and keep up the hard work ethics. Good luck to our team members who are going to move to PONY next year as well.

HBR#2 Pitchers
 Bullard 3 McNanna 2.

Just a note for next year. I believe we should try to get patched umpires for the playoffs. The umpire had a very different strike zone than we had seen all year, and clearly was lacking in some baseball rules.

Thanks to the league for all those who work behind the scenes to keep things running.

Cold and windy weather made for a tough night of baseball. Plano was on top and HBR capitalized on some errors and got right back into it. Plano's defense tightened up and held them back. The game was tied 7-7 after 6 innings and called due to darkness and the game will stand as a tie. HBR #2 was a nice host and has a fine team that works well together.

Unexpected injury to J-Lo threw Plano's rhythm off in the 1st inning. Waterman jumped up 2-0. J-Lo came back defensively after sitting out and had a great game under the circumstances. Plano tied it up in the 2nd. In the 3rd, Jake laid down a perfect bunt and then the bats came to life. Scored 11 in 2 innings but it was not enough to make Waterman lay down. They put together a big inning in the 4th and scored 5 runs. Plano settled in and the game was done after Waterman finished their 5th inning at bats after 8:00 . Coach Booker has those kids working hard over in Waterman. The facility looked nice and the Plano players liked their scoreboard!

Great pitching duel, great defense by both sides. We had awesome plays with a player caught stealing and a throw from center field to make a play at home, a couple 3rd basemen from both teams make nice grabs at the hot corner to throw out the runners, so great battle with a 3-2 outcome. Nice job by both Plano teams, everyone involved should be proud of their efforts tonight. Awesome baseball game!

HIGHLIGHTS
Considering the amount of rain we had, the field looked great and we really had no problems at all. Job well done Coach Niles and your assistants! They gave us the "home" dugout because the visitors was muddy and had water in it, while they put a bench in the grass for their dugout. That was a class act and we thank you for your hospitality. Plano #3 was playing some really good ball tonight and we are proud of our teams' efforts. The score really does not describe the proud Leland team we faced tonight. Don't write these guys off, they will  keep going no matter what the situation. Hats off to them and their coaches/parents for a well run program. Also, on behalf of all Plano sports teams-- "Congratulations"  on your Pepsi Challenge victory!! We are sure you will have a beautiful facility and look forward to future games there as well.

Plano pitchers: #56 Burris 3 innings / #24 Martinez 3 innings / #7 Ward 1 inning

Lisbon pitchers: #9 RD 2 innings / #7 Klock 3 innings / #24 Jorgensen 1 inning / #22 Austin Green 1 inning

Plano had the bats and the defense working on all cylinders today. This was the first time all season that both the offense and defense played their best. Lisbon is a good team that battled all the way to the last out. I am sure Lisbon will bounce back from this and show us all how good they are in the playoffs. Good luck to Lisbon and all their players and coaches the rest of the summer. Coach Jim

Newark White 11

Milton Pope 10

Highlights
It was a fun game both teams gave it all they had Newark sprinted out to an early lead of 7-1 however the Pilots made a great come back to take the lead after 4 innings 9-7 But Newark hung in there and tied the score in the 4th inning 9-9. The Pilots scored a run in the top of the 5th to make the score 10-9. However Newark came back and scored a run in the 5th and 6th innings to make the final score 11-10. Newark has a fine young team and they are caoched really well it was an enjoyable game.

We are proud of their efforts. J-Lo and Gerardo each had huge out of the park homers, and they sure earned the cheers they got from their team mates. The team made some nice hits and good defense to back up our pitchers as well. Great effort after a  long weekend. Great job guys!!

HIGHLIGHTS

NOTE-- This was a make up game from 6/15/10 at Indian Creek. Due to scheduling conflicts and field availability, it was agreed by both sides to play the game on a neutral field in Plano, with Indian Creek taking the role as "home" team as well as bringing an umpire. Great job by both towns' coaches/parents for putting this together so quickly! Everyone involved went out of their way to make this happen for our players and we appreciate the dedication brought forward to pull it off. It was no secret this game was going to be a battle, and the kids from both towns sure proved it tonight. Solid defense and offense from both teams and the pitching was as tough as it could get. Very well played game from both organizations.

Due to scheduling and already set make-up games, both towns coaches decided to play anyway and the rain stayed away for us to get a complete game in. A Thank You goes out to the folks from Hinckley who helped us get the water off the field and get it ready for our kids to play on in a relatively short amount of time. Considering the conditions, the field really looked good and held up well through the game. Plano came out on top in this one. Some nice plays and hits from both sides.

Hard fought game with no score until the 4th. Big Rock was ahead going into the bottom of the 6th and Waterman was not done. They came back with three runs and some base runners and made it a close game. Both teams had great plays and catches. Waterman cutting down our lead runner twice, nice work.

6-18-10 HBR#2 vs Plano #3 HBR 5 Plano 15

We played between the storms!! After a joint effort to get the field ready, the game was played. Take away the second inning that Plano pounded us with 9 runs, and it would have been a better game. Once again we had errors and could not make a play when we needed one.

I would say that we are officially in a slump! We are not playing games like we are practicing. Indian Creek came to play. Good game on a nice day.

HIGHLIGHTS
Waterman came to town tonight to play ball as we knew they would, and they certainly did not disappoint their coaches. They played a tough game til the very last score. Plano #3 did not disappoint their coaches neither. They played a tough game as well. Pitching and defense were the strong points of the game from both teams. Plano finally got the go ahead with 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th to avoid extra innings and seal the win. Great game from both towns and sportsmanship was very good. Nice job to all involved tonight.
