Plano's Loux tops list at Somonauk

Plano senior Taylor Loux shot a 75 to earn medalist honors at the Somonauk Class A Regional at Edgebrook GC in Sandwich. Loux was the top advancing individual to Saturday's Rockford Sectional. He will be joined by teammate Josh Gorzney, who shot a 79, while Somonauk sophomore Brock Kartheiser also advances after shooting an 83.

Indian Creek shot a team score of 342 to win the regional title, while Aurora Christian posted a 347 to finish third. Both teams will advance to the sectional. Alex Bremner shot an 83 to lead the way for Indian Creek while Scott Minta also had an 83 to pace ACHS.

Chicago Christian Class AA Regional -- Yorkville finished third with a score of 335 to advance as a team to the Lemont Sectional. Kager Schlichting and Andrew Borneman both shot 83 for the Foxes.

Sandwich missed qualifying as a team by two shots, but saw Tyler Bantz (81), Travis Anderson (84), Josh Gaylord (86), Kyle Kolka (86) and Paul Schmitt (86) all advanced as individuals.

Lockport Class AAA Regional -- Oswego East teammates Mike Conlee and Rick Ramey both shot an 84 to advance to the Pekin Sectional. Ryan Schoppe of Oswego shot a 90 to pick up the final individual qualifying position. IHSA Golf Regionals
