Herscher

Jordan Ruckman struck out 10 in 5 innings, and Dalton Sproul was 3-for-3 with
a double and RBI for Herscher (19-4, 5-1).
Sandwich
3, Reed-Custer 2
Dallas Schroeder and Jake Roehn combined to throw a 1-hitter for Sandwich.
Wilmington
5, Seneca 2
Brennan Bryan was 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs for Wilmington (11-8, 5-2).
Westmont 6, Manteno 5
Manteno's
nine game winning streak was broken this afternoon as the Panthers lost to
Westmont on the road, 6-5.
The Panthers were first on the board, putting up three runs in the first inning
and two runs in the third inning, but that's as far as it went. Manteno batters
managed only one additional hit in the last four innings. Second baseman Kevin
Sloat went 2-for-3 on the day.
The turning point came in the fourth inning. With Manteno leading 5-0, Westmont
scored a run on three consective singles. With two outs DuFrain walked the
bases loaded. Back-to-back errors by 3B Billy Liss and SS Kevin Sloat allowed
three additional Westmont runs to bring the score within one. With Reardanz
on the mound in the fifth inning, Westmont put up the go-ahead runs on two
singles and a double.
Paul DuFrain started on the mound for Manteno. He gave up 3 hits and 4 runs but only 1 earned run. DuFrain walked 2 and struck out 4 in 3.2 innings of work.
Mark Reardanz (5-1) took over on the rubber, giving up 2 earned runs on 4 hits in 2.1 innings. Reardanz took the loss.
The Panthers slip to 21-2 overall and 5-2 in conference play. They face Reed-Custer on the road next Monday.

Lisle 12, Dwight 0
The
Dwight Trojans ran into a buzz saw at home vs. the Lisle Lions losing 12-0
in an Interstate 8 conference game. Matt Hooker took the loss on the night
giving up 11 hits and 9 earned runs. The loss drops Dwight to 9-10 overall
and 1-6 in the I-8. Dwight had only 2 hits on the night (singles by Jake
Thomas and Ben Trainor) and only had 1 runner move past second base on the
night.
