Westmont 15, Seneca 7
At Seneca, Brian Bergeson had a big day with two home runs and three runs batted in, but it wasn't enough to lift Seneca (2-9, 0-2) to an Interstate Eight Conference victory.
Brent Bergeson added a three-run home run for the Fighting Irish. Logan Pifer was 2-for-3 with a double. Matt Houchin also had two hits.
Josh Rohder started the game and took the loss. He went five innings, giving up 10 runs (nine earned) on 10 hits.

John Kelly (3 hits, 6 RBIs) and Charlie Donovan (3 hits, 2 RBIs) led Westmont (7-3).

Plano 2, Lisle 3

Cody Dryden had 3 hits, and took the loss on the mound though only one run was earned, he had 11 strike outs. Brett Johsnon had 3 hits including a double

Ryan VanVolkenburg was 3-for-3 with 3 doubles and scored the winning run for Lisle (4-3-1).

Herscher 10, Dwight 0 (5)
Austin Mendell allowed 2 hits and struck out 7 for Herscher (8-1-2).

Manteno 3, Wilmington 2

The Manteno Panthers Varsity Baseball survive Wilmington rally, escape with 3-2 victory
Wilmington was never able to get over the hump and get over its troubles against the Manteno Panthers Varsity Baseball on Monday, as Wilmington fell 3-2 at Manteno after falling behind by three runs in the third inning.
Jack Morgan (2-0) got the win for Manteno thanks to seven strikeouts. Morgan allowed no earned runs on three hits and two walks over seven innings.
The Panthers never surrendered the lead after the third inning. Brett Gilbert and Adam Shaeffer each singled and then stole a base, while shortstop Kevin Sloat's patience was rewarded with a walk. First baseman Drew Nichols smacked a single into center field, scoring two, and third baseman Nick Kirchschlager followed with single to score Sloat. Even though the Panthers committed two errors their defense was able to contain Wilmington over seven innings.
Manteno is now 9-0 overall and 2-0 in the Interstate 8 Conference. The Panthers travel to Wilmington for the conference rematch on Tuesday at 4:30 pm. Jack Liss (3-0) is expected to start for the Panthers.


Reed-Custer 11, Peotone 3
R-C (6-1) scored 10 runs in the bottom of the 6th.

Sandwich 4, Coal City 2
At Coal City, the Indians scored twice in the top of the sixth inning to defeat Coal City in an Interstate Eight Conference contest.
Bailey Watros surrendered a pair of unearned runs and two hits with five walks and five strikeouts to get the win on the mound.
Corey Tollefson, Austin Smith and Zach Fordon all had a run batted in for Sandwich (6-2, 1-1). Jake Roehn doubled.
