Parker Murray was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs and Brian Czyl had a double and 2 RBIs for Lisle (17-4, 6-0).

Manteno 17, Peotone 1 (5 innings)
J.J. Witherow went 3-for-3 with 2 home runs and 6 RBIs and Mark Reardanz was 2-for-2 with a homer and 4 RBIs for Manteno (20-1, 4-1).

The Manteno Panther’s continued their hot streak, putting up their 20 th win of the season by beating the Peotone Blue Devils in a sweep of the Interstate 8 series by a score of 17-1 on Tuesday at Peotone.

The Panthers (20-1, 4-1) led off in the scoring in the first inning on a 2 run homer by 2B Mark Reardanz.

In the second inning, CF J.J. Witherow drove the first of his two home runs of the day over the left field fence. Add to that a bases loaded run pushed in when Peotone pitcher Kyle Batoeal hit a Panther batter and Manteno went ahead 5-0. Peotone’s only run came in the bottom of the inning when the Blue Devil’s Josh Rife reached on an error by SS Kevin Sloat, scoring one.

The big hurt came in the top of the third inning as Manteno proceeded to put up 10 runs including Witherow’s 3 run bomb. The Panthers plated 2 more runs in the fifth. Witherow ended the day with 7 RBI’s, going 3-for-3 at the plate. Reardanz was also perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2 with 3 RBI’s.

Manteno had some help from Peotone’s pitchers who walked 8 Panther batters and hit 6 with pitches.

Winning pitcher for the Panthers was Paul DuFrain (3-1). DuFrain pitched 3 innings, giving up only 1 unearned run, striking out 1 and issuing no walks.

The Panthers are on the road again on Wednesday, traveling to Clifton Central High School for a non-conference match-up.

Jean Pietrzak was 1-for-3 with 3 RBIs and Zach Hill had 2 hits and an RBI for Westmont (2-14).

Jeffrey Woods gave up 4 hits and struck out 8 in the shutout for Sandwich (8-10, 4-2).

Trent Bowers had 2 hits of Plano's 4

Dwight 7, Wilmington 6

The Dwight Trojan varsity baseball team defeated Wilmington 7-6 in 8 innings moving the Trojan record to 9-9 overall and 1-5 in the I-8. Alec Frazier (3-2) picked up the win throwing all 8 innings. Alec gave up 6 earned runs, on 7 hits, 9 strikeouts, and 4 walks. The Trojans used a 9 hit attack to pick up their first conference win of the season. Ryan Kodat, Ben Trainor (2rbi’s), Jake Thomas, and Aaron Boma all had 2 hits each.
