Sandwich 7, Westmont 3
Jeffrey Woods went the distance, allowing 6 hits, and striking out 8, to earn the win for Sandwich (6-7, 2-0). Zach Moran was 2-for-4 with a run for Westmont.

Manteno 8, Dwight 3

The Dwight Trojan baseball team traveled to Manteno for a divisional conference game and lost 8-3 moving their overall record to 7-6 overall and 0-2 in the I-8 conference. Jake Thomas (1-5) took the loss for the Trojans on the mound but threw a very good game. He gave up 11 hits on 8 runs striking out 4 and walking 2. The Trojans scattered 5 hits in seven innings. Alec Frazier had a solo home run and Troy Hogan had a double.

Coaches Comments:

The Reapers baseball team saw its four game winning streak snapped with a 9 – 7 loss in 8 innings.

Five costly errors in the 6 th inning did the Reapers in as they allowed 6 runs to score with a 7 – 1 lead. Seneca pushed two runs across in the top of the 8 th . In the bottom of the eighth Devin Ambrose led off with a hit by pitch and Kelby Gann walked. With no one out Trent Bowers, Kyle Doney, and Nate Lee all struck out. Plano moves to 5 – 8 on the season and 1 – 1 in conference while Seneca improves to 5 – 11 and 1 – 1 in conference.
