Justin Ruckman was 2-for-5 with a 2-run home run for Herscher (13-3). Westmont's Charlie Donovan went 2-for-3 with a 2-run home run.

Sandwich 9, Dwight 0:

Jake Roehn turned in a complete game gem, giving up three hits with 14 strikeouts for Sandwich (5-5).

The Dwight Trojan baseball team was defeated 9-0 by the Sandwich Indians. Jake Thomas (1-4) took the loss for the Trojans but pitched very well. The Trojans mustered up only 3 hits on the night. Ryan Kodat had 2 singles and Jake Wardell -singled for Dwight. The loss moved Dwight to 7-5 overall and o-1 in the conference.

 

Coal City 10, Reed-Custer 0 (5 innings)
Brandon Wills allowed 4 hits and struck out 3 to get the win for Coal City (5-5, 1-0).

Lisle 2, Manteno 1
Ryan Van Volkenburg went the distance and struck out 5 to get the win for Lisle (10-4, 1-0). Brian Czyl was 2-for-4 with an RBI in the win.

Jake Roehn gave up 3 hits and struck out 14 in the shutout for Sandwich (5-5, 1-0).

Plano 4, Wilmington 1
Kyle Doney threw 6 innings of no hit baseball, striking out 6, and Trent Bowers was the hitting highlight for Plano (6-7, 1-0).

The Dwight Trojans baseball team defeated Heyworth 7-4 to improve their record to 8-4 on the season. The winning pitcher was Ben Trainor (2-0) who gave up 1 earned run over 7 innings, 4 hits, 6 strikeouts, 2 walks. Leadings hitter for Dwight were Alec Frazier- 2 hits and 2 rbi, Ben Trainor- 2 hits and 1 rbi, and Jake Wardell- 2 hits. The Trojans left 18 runners on base with 10 of them being runners on 2nd or 3rd base. One timely hit could have opened up the game.
