6:00pm #06 Newark White at #02 Somonauk #1 This game was originally scheduled for Monday May 4th, but was rescheduled for the 8th. Final Score Somonauk 8, Newark White 1 Newark Pitchers Ethan Radiewicz 3 Innings Mikey Stafford 2 Innings ------------ Som. #1 8 runs Newark –white 1 run som. Pitichers Saltzman 2 innings, jump 2 innings, zaleski 1 inning, novey 1 inning Newark pitchers radkiewicz 3 innings, Stafford 2 innings Somonauk pitchers had an outstanding evening with no earned runs allowed led by Saltzman and jump with 2 no run innings each. Newark’s radkiewicz pitched outstanding as well with only 2 earned runs over 3 innings. The game was close at som. 3 and Newark 1 going into the bottom of the 5th and that’s when the Somonauk bats came out of hibernation and had a 5 run inning. There was a great defensive play by wiesbrook which was a nice snag of a grounder to the 2nd base side of first base in which he tagged the runner that was on first and then alertly stepped on first for an unassisted double play. This was only somonauk’s wiesbrook 2nd organized baseball game. ------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Excellent job to the both of you. Somonauk had the lead going into the
5th inning at 6 to 4 and that is when Sheridan's bats came alive and
we scored 4 run to go up 8 to 6. Don Clayton caught a great game for
us tonight. He kept fighting to throw out the boys stealing and it finally
paid off in the last inning throwing down to third and getting the runner
out. Way to go Don. Somonauk was to add 1 more in the finale inning
to make it 8 to 7 and that is how the game ended. good job to both teams.
I can't wait to play you Somonauk boys again. you are an excellent team. |

6:00pm #02 Somonauk #1 at #06 Newark White Newark pitchers 2 innings each Stafford, kaufman, goetzinger som. Pitchers jump 4 innings zaleski 2 innings firstly I would like to commend the Newark kids as they were very gracious in defeat which is either a product of coaching and/or parenting but they are fine young gentleman. This was a very close game and may have had a different result had somonauks’ novey and zaleski not made great defensive plays on hard hit line drives by Newark. This game was the cleanest (error free) game that I have seen this year. Newark never gave up and will win their share of games before the season is over. Sheridan highlights: This
was a great game to be a part of tonight. Both teams played great defense
and put the ball in play. I could not ask for any thing better from
my boys. When you play 4 games in 5 days you have to go deep into your
pitching with kids that don't see much pitching time. These boys had
some great inning for us. This is the first time I had to use 4 pitchers
in a game. Defensively Cole had 2 strike outs and a put out. Trevor
struck out 6 with 1 put out. Zeke had 3 Strikeouts and a put out. Trent
faced three batters and our defense took care of them. Offensively we
put the ball in play and Newark made the plays. As for our hitting the
best hit was by Trent who drove in two runs on a home run. Trent has
been on fire at the plate this last week. Zeke had a single. Zeke, Trevor
and Thomas all had doubles. Tj Smacked the ball twice for singles. Don
did a great job behind the plate again with two put outs to his credit.
Lets go get em in the tournament boys.

|
6:00pm #02 Somonauk #1 at #05 Serena Score serena 1 som. 17 pitchers serena shroba 2 innings, leannah 3 innings, Thompson 1 inning, smith 2 innings. Somonauk Saltzman 3 innings, zaleski 1 inning, rader 1 inning. The difference in this game was the pitchers ability to throw strikes. Serena has some very good pitchers but they had an off night and walked too many Somonauk kids for their team to overcome. Somonauk had key hits with runners on base and that is how the entire night went for serena. Saltzman and weisbrook had legit triples for Somonauk, those two hits drove in 5 runs . ------------------------------------------------------------------- |
