The Reed-Custer
Comets traveled to Normal University High School and dropped both ends of a
doubleheader by 14-4 and 8-6 scores.
R-C was outmatched in the opener as the Pioneers scored in every inning.
The game was halted by the 10 run rule in the 6th inning. The Comets could
muster only 2 hits, both singles by Travis Schoonover and Eddie Wilkins.
Wilkins (1-1) took the loss. Jordan Colwell appeared in relief.
The second game was a see saw affair as the Comets took leads of 1-0, 4-2 and
6-5, heading into the fifth inning. The Pioneers tacked on a single run
in the 5th and a pair of runs in the sixth to take an 8-6 lead that would stand.
Josh Bull had a 3 RBI double, while Wilkins and Tyler Murawski had triples
to lead a 9 hit Comet attack.
Schoonover (0-3) took the loss.
R-C drops to 8-5 on the season.
