At Plano, the Reapers notched their first victory of the season with an Interstate Eight Conference win.

Plano tallied a run each in the third and sixth innings.

Matt Priesman and Will Brown both had two hits apiece to account for all of the Reapers' (1-3, 1-0) offense. Nick Preston went the distance on the mound allowing four hits to go along with six strikeouts and two walks to record the win.

NEWARK 8, HINCKLEY-BIG ROCK 4 (6 inn.)

At Hinckley, the Norsemen opened up Little Ten Conference play with a come-from-behind victory.

Hinckley-Big Rock led 4-3 going into sixth inning, before Newark put up five runs in that frame. The game was then called due to darkness.

Mitch Dunlap (triple, two runs, two RBI) and Adam Marcley each had two hits to lead the Norsemen (2-0, 1-0) offense. Kyle Janssen picked up the win on the mound in relief.

SYCAMORE 15, INDIAN CREEK 2 (6 inn.)

At Shabbona, the Timberwolves fell to 2-4 on the season after a nonconference loss on Tuesday afternoon.

The contest was tied at 2-2 after two innings, before Sycamore put six runs in the third and seven more in the sixth inning to put the 10-run rule into effect.

"Sycamore outplayed us in every aspect of the game," IC coach Mike Madsen said. "They outhit, outpitched and outfielded us. We can not expect to win ball games playing from behind.

"Graham Gletty who has thrown very well for us to this point, although his record does not show it, just did not have his best stuff tonight. He understands that he has to locate better than he did to be on the winning side the next time he gets the ball."

Nick Schnorr had a double for the T-wolves (2-4), while Wade Benson added a single and an RBI. Gletty was charged with the loss on the mound.
